Presentation :
Considered as one of the greatest white wines in France, only 6000 bottles of this wine are produced. It's made with 100% very old Roussanne vines and harvested slightly over ripe. This exceptional wine must be drunk within 3 years or after 15 years. To be enjoyed with gastronomic cuisine.
The vintage :
The years in 9 regularly mark the memory of winegrowers and this vintage was no exception. After an early bud burst in early April, flowering was gradual and took place in good conditions in all the vineyards. Then a hot summer began in late June, which the vines bravely resisted: they suffered little from water stress, thanks to the chamomile herbal infusions we sprayed on the vegetation to cope with the heat. Finally, the harvest went as usual, without any particular precocity. The wines are promising; a vintage in 9 is born, once again, under a lucky star.

Tasting :
Château de Beaucastel white Roussanne Vieilles Vignes 2019 has a shimmering deep golden colour. Its rich and complex nose offers a mesmerizing bouquet with notes of toast, peach and beeswax. Very elegant on the palate, it embodies the perfect balance between freshness and complexity. Roussanne brings magnificent richness and opulent texture, perfectly balanced by a superb freshness with beautiful aromas of white flowers, honey, crushed almonds and citrus zest. The long finish reveals an exceptional salinity specific to Beaucastel and a sign of a great vintage.
"One of my favorite whites in the world is the old vine Roussanne cuvée from Beaucastel, which comes from a single 3-hectare parcel just outside the domaine, in the northern, cooler part of Châteauneuf du Pape. The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Roussanne Vieilles Vignes is another thrilling example of Roussanne and offers a vivid gold hue as well as gorgeous notes of white currants, honeysuckle, white flowers, crushed stone, and hints of gunpowder. With beautiful freshness, full-bodied richness, and ample power, it’s unquestionably the Montrachet of the Southern Rhône and a magical white. You can safely drink bottles anytime over the coming decade, then it’s best forgotten until around 20 years after the vintage."

"Gorgeous nose, toasted and nutty, a rich almond and hazelnut character. Subtle peach character underneath the golden-apple fruit, the creamy mouthfeel is supported by balanced freshness. Long fine finish, rich but also refined and defined – layered, and with age this will be a stunner."
