Présentation :
Considéré comme l'un des plus grands vins blancs de France, seules 6000 bouteilles de ce vin sont produites.
Issu à 100% de très vieilles roussannes, ramassées en légère sur-maturité, ce vin exceptionnel sera à boire avant 2-3 ans ou dans 10 ans, en accompagnement d'une grande gastronomie (poularde aux truffes ...).
Le millésime :
Le millésime 2014 est surprenant pour la région. Il se caractérise par un hiver doux et humide, un printemps chaud et sec, un été tempéré et humide. Année atypique, année de vigneron. Le débourrement s'est fait très tôt, la floraison s'est déroulée dans des conditions idéales et la nouaison a été excellente, notamment au niveau des grenaches. Cependant le travail dans les vignes et la surveillance étaient de rigueur jusqu’aux vendanges, avec les mois de juillet et août humide favorisant la croissance végétative. La récolte des raisins blancs se fait sous un grand soleil, avec de très jolis équilibres analytiques.
Situation :
Le Château de Beaucastel dispose d'un vignoble de 7 hectares planté en cépages blancs.
Terroir :
Molasse marine de miocène recouvert par un diluvium alpin ( cailloux roulés).
Élevage :
Vendange manuelle, tri de la vendange, ramassage en caisse, pressurage pneumatique, débourbage, fermentation (30% en pièce, 70% en cuve).
Élevage pendant 8 mois (30% en pièce, 70% en cuve). Mise en bouteille après huit mois.

Dégustation :
Une superbe couleur jaune brillante aux reflets verts.
Le nez est discret, élégant et civilisé, sur des notes de pétales de rose et de cire d'abeille.
En bouche le vin prend de l'ampleur et présente un caractère gras, sur des notes de Pain d'épice, de cannelle, de girofle, et de poivre blanc. La fin de bouche est portée par un très bel équilibre, entre salinité et minéralité.
